CMHS 1979 Class Album

This page is reserved for old pictures from high school that will help us reminisce the fun times we had.  Please send me any old pictures you might still have as an e-mail attachment to cle0922@yahoo.com so we can include them here.

Freshman Class, Section White (the only class picture I have here so far):  As you will see four years later in high school (and even now, twenty eight years later), nothing much has changed look-wise among these lovely ladies and dashing gentlemen!?!

Choralfest 1976 (Freshman Year):  Sabi na saiyo na fwede an flain nan frinted na fatadyong basta pag-PE san girls magsarayaw to the count of one, two, three, fause!!!

The assistant majorettes from our class:  Marissa, Joy (Jocelynn), Lily, Ditas, Terry and Jean --- getting ready to dance Exhibition no. 4 (aber daw sino an makadumdom san tono san exhibition #4?)

The class presentation during the Linggo ng Wika --- again the gals got to use their frinted or flain fatadyong!!!

CAT Recognition Ceremony:  After months of being barbecued under the scorching heat of the sun while doing platoon drills and practicing for the tactical inspection, nakaraos din basta magtirindog lang kamo entiro when the national antim is being played, okay?

Tactical Inspection:  "Ang pulutong po ng Kolehiyo ng Milagrosa ay nakahanda na sa anumang pagsusubok!" Making sure that the last few syllables are enunciated with full (intimidating) conviction, complete with the tiny bubbles effects reminiscent of the "You $%$#% step out first! (Pwennngggg!)" episode.

Kawe being tested by the tactical inspection officer while the rest stood at attention maski pa ngani may langaw na nagpaparasawong-sawong!

Rico, our color officer, with Kawe, Peter, Erwin and Toti leading the parade with the national and school flags.  Mga urungudunon daw sinda didi!

Company commander to platoon leader: "Irog baya sadi an insasabi ninda na '4H' --- house to house holding hands? An paghuna ko san 4H--- honey to honey holding hands just like what those pairs of classmates are doing every Saturday as they hike to Roro para mag-YCAP?"

Three of us missed our classes for more than a week when we attended the CMLI convention in Baguio in Senior Year.  I vividly remember us coming back to join the class perform the "One of These Mornings" number which the rest of you have thought of and practiced while we were away.

Bernie goes for a three-pointer while Celso gets ready to rebound. Of course we won this game against the Juniors.

Vicky uses her unique double handed karate chop to return the ball while Tessa, Jean and Susana look on.  This team got so used to winning their games!

"Susana!  Tiraha na ina!" sabi ni Vicky.

"Hala sige kuwaa niyo ini kun kaya niyo!" banat ni Manay Susan.

Batot defends at the net with a block/spike.

How could our team ever lose with all these cheerers providing the needed moral support?

Taking a break from the parade and flaunting their blue shirts with the word "SENIOR" and a "?" --- Dili pa yata kita sadto makapaniwala na mga seniors na kita kaya medyo nagduduwa-duwa pa to take on that role --- kaya may "?" sa t-shirt, right?

Christmas Party, Senior Year:  Somebody gave me two 45-records of Andy Gibb featuring Shadow Dancing, among other songs. This song reminds me of the disco parties we organized for our class during that year, even though a class disco party wasn't really a very popular idea among some of our teachers.  Our group was so stubborn that we insisted on still holding such party.  I recall we were allowed to hold a class disco party (at the Villamor's residence) as long as a teacher (i.e. our beloved adviser Miss Sy) would be present throughout the party.  Well, we had to finish early that night, as I recall, but with the insatiable desire for more fun still burning in most of us, some of us proceeded to Guevarra to dance until the wee hours of the next morning!  Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah! Staying Alive, Staying Alive!

One of the very few graduation pictures I have, with a few of us getting together for a souvenir shot after all the formalities.  It was hard saying goodbye to one's youth.  But as we would discover later (in several occasions in the years that followed after that day of saying goodbye "SOFTLY"; remember our graduation song?), getting together gave each of us a chance to re-live those very happy episodes in high school:  re-telling accounts of people/incidents that provided amusement and color to our high school days, throwing the same punch lines that were guaranteed to make one pee in his/her pants (unbelievable but it really happened right in front of our third year classroom!!!), sabi ngani ni Bitchie "dagos pa man guihapon an buruwaan!" and really feeling young again, no matter how old our chronological ages had become.  When you think about it, youth has not really been lost after all these years.  It has actually been merely suppressed deep inside, to be unleashed whenever one gets together with those he/she experienced and shared it with not so many years ago.

Just for fun:  can you identify at least 10 of these "innocent-looking" Grade 2 pupils in 1970-71 who went on to finish Senior Year with you in colegio? I can count 11, with a few more who were with us in the years before Senior Year. Aber daw!!!

This picture of our third grade class (taken in 1972) would have even more classmates who stayed together until Senior Year in high school.  There are about 24 kids in this picture who spent at least a year with us in high school.  An maka-identify may premyo:  1 year supply of ice candy hale sa tindahan ni Tia Omeng sa kanto!
